What is a Celebrant.

There are many times when family and friends come together to celebrate both sad and happy occasions.

It is important that these occasions allow for those attending to share in the celebration and bring old memories and create new ones. The happy memories are easy to celebrate but whilst more difficult, the sad times and memories must also be shared and celebrated.

If the celebrations are to have a religious basis and content then a member of the clergy would normally lead the celebration.

When families and friends do not want the celebration to be religious often a Celebrant is asked to conduct the service. The title of this person is often a Civil Celebrant.

 

About me.

My name is Andy Wardell and I was born in Cleethorpes but have lived in Skegness since I left the Royal Air Force in 1990.

I am married to Helen and we have two grown up boys who are both married themselves.

After leaving School I joined the Royal Air Force in 1981 and qualified as a Dental Technician.

In 1990 I entered the Lincolnshire Police Force going through the ranks from Constable to Detective Inspector.

On retiring from the Police in 2013 I worked for Her Majesty's Coroner as a Coroners Officer.

During my time in the Police and more especially in the Coroners Service I worked with many families who had suffered personal loss of either Family or Friends. I also worked closely with the Funeral Directors, Crematorium Staff, Registrars of Births Deaths and Marriages and many other agencies including Doctors and NHS staff.

I strongly believe that events such as Funerals, Weddings and Child naming Ceremonies should, as far as possible, be based on what the family and friends want.

If there is a time for humour it should be enjoyed, if there is a time for sadness it should be embraced. I believe I can help you with a ceremony which is personalised to your wishes.
